About Us
Shannon McGuire BHSc (PT)
Shannon McGuire has been practicing as a physiotherapist since graduating from McMaster University in 1996 and has been working with the Acquired Brain Injury population for over 18 years. She currently works at St. Joseph’s Health Care London – Parkwood Institute on the Outpatient Acquired Brain Injury Team. She became interested in Vision Rehabilitation in 2007 and established the first inpatient Neuro-Optometric Rehab Service in Canada at Parkwood Hospital in 2007 and expanded it to include an Outpatient Vision Clinic in 2010. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association and assists with teaching their Clinical Skills coursese. She is a Clinical Lecturer at University of Western Ontario’s School of Physical Therapy. After presenting at multiple conference about treatment of individuals with persistent symptoms after concussion/mild traumatic brain injury, Shannon started teaching full day Concussion Management Workshops in 2012. She has taught her course across Canada and internationally.
